The Chester meeting was continued to-day, when the principal event decided was the Chester Cup. This is the event in which, in addition to the prize money, a champion Cheshire cheese, valued at £5, is given to the owners of the placed horses. The result of the race was:— CHESTER CUP. A handicap of 15 sovs each, with 2500 sovs and a gold cup valued at £SO added; second horse to receive 300 sovs and third horse 200 sovs, from the stake. About two miles and a quarter.
