DOUBLE WEDDING.
Caesar—Ormond. Clarkson—Hobson. A double wedding of interest to New Zealanders took place in Buenos Aires in February, when two Christchurch boys were married to two girls from Hawke’s Bay, who went to the Argentine early in the year to join their prospective, husbands.. The brides were Nellie,' third daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Ormond, of Gisborne, who was married to Theodore, son of Mr J. A. Caesar. Sumner, and the late Mrs Caesar, and Maud, daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Hobson, Hawke’s Bay, who was married to William -Bowes, son of Mrs and the late Mr W. B. Clarkson, Christchurch. The couples had to be married twice, in accordance with the laws of the country, the first service being conducted in Spanish, after which a second service was conducted in English by the Rev Ivor Evans, at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Buenos Aires.
Mrs Caesar, who was given away by Mr H. A. Stark, a cousin of the bridegroom, was wearing a pink pastel lace, and a small pink hat to. match. She carried a bouquet of pale pink rosebuds.
Mrs Clarkson, -who was given away by Mr Arthur Burke, of Manchester, England, wore a frock of old English beige Nottingham lace, relieved with touches of nigger brown, and a brown hat, and carried a bouquet of pink roses.
Following the combined service? at the church, a very enjoyable reception was held at the Phoenix Hotel. Later in the day the brides and bridegrooms left on their respective wedding trips. Mrs Caesar wore a smart brown crepe de chine ensemble and a hat to tone, and Mrs Clarkson a becoming French grey and blue ensemble.
