POLICE COURT NEWS.
Attempted to Cross in Front Train. In the Magistrate's Court this morning, before Mr H. P. Lawrv, S.M., Gilbert Alfred James Sharman pleaded guilty to a charge of attempting to cross the Colombo Street railway crossing when the line was not clear. Mr Brown, who prosecuted, said that defendant approached the crossing on a motor-cycle at 10 p.m. on January 27. An engine was almost on the crossing. All the bells were ringing, and the crossing-keeper was there with his stop signal. The defendant was fined £1 and costs. Unlicensed Wireless Sets. For being in possession of.unlicensed wireless sets the following were fined; Frederick George Boyce, 5s and costs; William Dunn. 5s and costs; Finnes Harding, 15s and costs; Maurice George llosking, 5s and costs; Albert Keys; 5s and costs; Percy Kirby, 5s and costs; Daniel Murphy, 5s and costs; Edward George Thompson, 30s and costs; Noel Duncan Wallis, 10s and costs; Ivy Ward, 10s and costs.
