Inter-Secondary School Games. An invitation has been accepted by the secondary department of the Lyttelton District High School to visit Sumner for the purpose of playing inter-school tennis and cricket matches. At a meeting of the Schools Sports Committee, held yesterday, it was decided to enter a football team for the Wednesday competitions to be held during the winter months. Bowling. Playing in the semi-final of the Lyttelton Bowling Club’s singles championship on Monday night, A. Hewstone beat J. Souter. Hewstone will now meet the winner of D. Page v. S. Sinclair in the final. Ideal swimming conditions prevailed at Corsair Bay yesterday for the annual race for beach members of the Lyttelton Ladies’ Swimming Club. A close race resulted as follows; Mrs E. Weastell 1, Mrs J. Plimmer 2, Mrs M’Masters 3. Also started: Mesdames G. Boyce, T. Mahar, F. E. Sutton and H. Oates. Billiards Tourney L. Fenton won the flying 50 handicap billiards tournament played at the Lyttelton Club.
