ROUND THE DANCES.

At the Scottish Society’s dance, to be held in the society’s rooms, Manchester Street, to-night, prizes will be given to the winners of the Monte Carlo and lucky spot competitions. Mrs Creagh’s orchestra will supply the music. The first heat of the de luxe Monte Carlo is to be held at the Canberra Dance Assembly to-night. There will be a dance and social in the West Spreydon School, Lyttelton Street, to-night. The Hawaiian Dance Assembly is holding a dance in the Riccarton Racecourse on January 19. There will be old and new dances. The Scottish Pipe Band will hold a dance this evening in the Dorothy Hall. The Evans-Campbell band will provide the music. There will be lucky spot and Monte Carlo dances, and Mr W. Hall will be M.C. On Monday night, at the Caledonian Hall, the usual old time dance will be held. Recent improvements In ventilation have provided a cooler atmosphere in this popular hall. The music will be supplied by the Evans-Campbell band, and the gallery will be open for spectators. At the Dorothy Hall next Wednesday evening, the Evans-Campbell band will supply the music for the usual old time dance. The popular Saturday night old time dance will be held this evening at the Ferry Road Hall. The last heat of the 1933 waltzing championship willl be decided, and Bryson’s band will supply the music. On Tuesday evening next, at the Ferry Road Hall, the popular old time dance will be held, when Bryson’s band will supply the music. The semi-final of the 1933 waltzing championship will be decided by the public vote of dancers. Monte Carlo and lucky spot danoes will be held, and Mr H. Edwards will be the master of ceremonies. The Modern Dance Cabaret will hold their opening gala dance on Wednesday next at the Ferry Road Hall, when the latest dance numbers will be played by Eric Askenbeck’s band. To mark the opening night a foxtrot contest and many Entertaining novelty attractions will be featured. Cabaret supper will be provided.
