CROQUET.
Dominion Tournament Commenced.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 13. The Dominion croquet tournament began to-day in glorious weather at Lower Hutt and Petone. Elimination rounds and handicaps were played today. A croquet pennant match was played between Linwood and Edgeware at Linwood on Thursday, resulting in a win for Linwood. The scores were as follows, Linwood names being mentioned first:— Doubles —Mrs Cowper and Mrs Gillespie 23, Mrs Beanland and Mrs M’Cullough 26; Mrs Boddington and Wilson 26, Mrs Dalton and Mrs Scott 24; Mrs Tustin and Mrs Coleman 10, Mrs Gordon and Mrs Col will 26. Singles—Mrs Cowper 25, Mrs Beanland 26; Mrs Gillespie 26, Mrs M’Cullough 20; Mrs Boddington 14, Mrs Dalton 6; Mrs Wilson 13, Mrs Scott 10; Mrs Tustin 26, Mrs Gordon 19; Mrs Coleman 26, Mrs Colwill 21.
