The third Test match was resumed to-day. At stumps yesterday England had lost seven wickets for 23Q. The not out men, Paynter (25) and Verity (5), carried on this morning. They batted till lunch, carrying the total to 315 (Paynter 72, Verity 35). Shortly after lunch Paynter lost his wicket, being caught by Fingleton off Wall. The total was then 324 for eight wickets. The remaining wickets fell cheaply to Wall and England were all out for 340. Wall took five for 72. Woodfull and Fingleton opened for Australia.
