POLITICAL CRISIS.
King Carol and Government
Disagree.
(Received January 14, 4.15 p.m.) BUCHAREST, January 13. Owing to King Carol’s refusal to dismiss the Chief of Police and other friends, a political crisis has been precipitated, and M. Maniu, the Premier, and his Government have resigned. The Foreign Minister, M. Titulesco, has hurriedly returned from Geneva to support Cabinet in its attitude. The trouble is largely due to longstanding differences between King Carol and the Premier, M. Maniu. It is believed that the ex-Premier, M. Vaida Voevod, will be entrusted with the new Government.
