HUGE INCOMES.
Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn Doing Well. LONDON, December 16. Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn, two well-known British screen stars, will figure in a financial comedy, as a result of which they will receive nearly £200,000 through a contract to make four films a year for three for the Gaumont-British Company. Walls, who directs his own films, will receive £IO,OOO per film, and Lynn £6OOO. The deal includes the Aldwych Theatre’s comedy team (Mary Brough, Winifred Shotter, Robertson Ilare and Claude Hulbert). Walls and Lynn, whose “ talkies ” are at present earning them £IOO,OOO a year each in Britain alone, are also under an arrangement to make two films a year for Herbert Wilcox, who in August severed his connection with the Gaumont-British Company, and entered into an arrangement with American United Artists, hoping to secure screenings in America. The Gaumont-British Company is not desirous of losing the Walls-Lynn attractions, and recently made them an irresistible offer.
