HOUSE DESTROYED.
The house in Papanui outside she Central Fir* Brigade’s arsa which was destroyed by fire on Tuesday afterneon was a two-storey bungalow in Tueß*r’s Road, occupied by Mr and Mrs S. H. Stewart, who had only moved in on Saturday. Renovations had been carried out recently, and some of Mr Stewart’s furniture was still in the dwelling waiting to be unpacked. Mr and Mrs Stewart are heavy losers as a result of the fire. It is understood that workmen were engaged about the house at the time of the fire.
