SWIMMING TOURS.
Otago Centre Will Not Invite American Team. (Special to the ** Star.") DUNEDIN, December 16. The Otago Swimming Centre decided that the estimated cost of two appearances by the American team here was too high, and declined the council’s offer. It was agreed to wait in the meantime until advice had been received from the Auckland Centre on the question of bringing the Australian team. Failing being allowed by Auckland to participate in this team’s tour, Otago will consider bringing over an Australian direct to Dunedin with a view to pitting W. J. Jarvis and Reg. Geddes against the visitor.
