DEATH IN HALL.
Man Was Attending a Christinas Tree Party. COLLAPSED IN SEAT. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 16. Tragic circumstances marked the death last evening of Mr F. Souster, an architect. Mr Souster was a local preacher in the Methodist Church and last night attended a gathering in the Mission Hall, where one hundred poor children and mothers had been invited to a Christmas tree and entertainment. Mr Souster went on to the stage and twice played on hand bells and then wished everybody a happy Christmas. On returning to his seat he collapsed and it was soon found that he was dead. The chairman asked all to leave the hall quietly and reverently, and pronounced the Benediction. The children were each given a toy before going and they left unaware of what had happened.
