ST ANNE’S GUILD.
Society Holds Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of the St Anne’s Guild Society was held last evening Bishop "West-Watson presiding over a good attendance. The annual report stated that the year had not been without financial difficulties, but the guild was more than ever grateful to friends who had continued their support. The Rev Mother Dora had retired after ten years of devoted service.. The Rev Mother Eleanor would be welcomed to the meetings, and she was wished a speedy recovery from her present illness. Thanks were due to Sister Catherine, C.S.N., for the efficient way in which she had taken charge of the home. The balance-sheet showed the finances to be satisfactory. The adoption of the report and bal-ance-sheet was moved by Archdeacon F. N. Taylor. Seconding the motion, Mr R. G. Hogg said it was gratifying that the guild had purchased the St Anne’s Home and was paying off the principal by instalments. Mr E. G. Hogg was appointed deputychairman. Other officers appointed were:—Honorary secretary and treasurer Mrs H. S. E. Turner; honorary medical officers, Dr D. E. Currie and Dr L. Bruce Stringer; honorary dental surgeons. Mr Arthur Suckling and the staff of the Dental Department of the Christchurch Hospital; honorary auditors, Messrs Wm. Jameson and Son; Council of the Guild, the Bishop of Christchurch, the Ven Archdeacon F. N. Taylor, D. W. Irving, Sir Francis Boys. Mr A. C. Cottrell, the Rev P. Reveil. Mesdames H. S. E. Turner, W. G. Roberts. A. Julius, W. H. Orbell. Peter Wood, H. O. Hanby. A. H. Norris. Geoffrey Hamilton. Miss O. M’llraith and Sister Catherine.
An address was given by Miss M. F. Havelaar.
In moving a final vote of thanks to thos® who had worked for the guild, the Bishop said that St Anne’s was a credit to the diocese.
