Gatherings Held in Town and Suburbs. PUPILS ENTERTAINED. On Saturday last the pupils of Miss Millicent Jennings spent an enjoyable musical evening at the home of Mrs A. Morrison and her daughter, Puriri Street, Fendalton. The programme :omprised Early Italian vocal music and songs by modern British composers. The accompaniments were played by Miss Jennings. During the vening appropriate gifts were presented to Mrs and Miss Morrison, as hostesses. Those present included: Mrs Morrison, Misses Hilda Morrison, Ntessie Harrison, Marjorie Watt, Marie Raven, Ruth Morrison, Kate Johnson, Harriet Hern, Shirley Johns and Molly Armstrong; Mesdames W. Wilson, N. Johns, Oxenham, Jack, Bruce and Messrs T. WynneYorke and L. Dangerfleld. Lancashire Society’s Social. A number of members and friends of the Lancashire Society spent an enjoyable evening in their rooms, Manchester Street, recently. Misses L. and M. Straw gave a banjo duet. Mr S. Cheetham, who was M.C., welcomed Mr Frye, secretary of the Dunedin Lancashire and Yorkshire Society. Prizes were won by Mr Yearn and Mr J. York, and Miss J. Jeffreys and Mrs Duckworth supplied the music for the dancing. Those present included: Mr and Mrs S. Cheetham, Mr and Mrs T. Bardsley, Mr and Mrs Y*earn, Mr and Mrs Truman, Mr and Mrs W. Coming-of-Age Party. The coming of age of Miss Valmai Dodge was celebrated recently, when many guests were entertained by her parents, Mr and Mrs Ken Dodge, Peer Street, Upper Riccarton. Mr L. C. Crequer supplied the music for the dancing, and Miss Stella Coleman played extras. Musical monologues were given by Miss Yvonne Dodge, and Mr A. E. Sheehy gave a recitation. Mr Clyde Crequer was M.C. A competition was won by Miss Rene Dulieu and Mr Royden Cook. Those present included: Mr and Mrs L. C. Cnequer, Mr and Mrs L. Lennox, Mr and Mrs N. Blake way, Mr and Mrs F. Dulieu and Mrs B. Craighead; Misses Valmai Dodge, Ila Blake way, Yvonne Dodge, Eileen Crequer, Irene Palmer, Gwen Dulieu, M. Kingdon, G. Reid, Peggy Blakeway, Frances Ashby. An enjoyable evening was held recently, at the home of Mr and Mrs W. M’George, Aldwin’s Road, Linwood. The evening was spent in games and competitions, interspersed with dancing. Mr W. Dix gave some humorous recitations. The music for the dancing was supplied by W. M’Alister’s orchestra. The competition winners were: Lucky Spot, Miss Molly Brennan and Mr George Murphy; Monte Carlo, Miss Molly Brennan and Mr George Murphy; competitions, Mr Walter M’George and Mr Stan. Farrant. Those present included: Mr and Mrs W. M'George, Mr and Mrs W. M'Alister, Mr and Mrs W. Dix, Mrs B.
