AUCKLAND, August 2. “ Previous fines of £25 have not operat'd as a warning, and it appears to me that this pakapoo business must be more profitable than is represented," said Mr R. M’Kean, S.M., at the Police Court in fining Wong Foo. aged thirty nine years, a labourer, £45 or three months’ imprisonment on a charge o’ using premises as a common gaminghouse. "Unfortunately, Europeans and Chinese are starting gaming together, a thing they never did in the past,” said Detective-Sergeant Kelly.
