Otago Adheres to Original Date. (Special to the " Star.”) DUNEDIN, August 2In reply to a communication from Canterbury asking that the Payne Trophy match should be played on August 27 instead of September 17, Otago decided that, as August 27 had been set down for a charity match in Dunedin, no alteration could be made in the Payne Trophy date. Injured Player Suffering from Concussion.
(Special to the “ Star.”) DUNEDIN, August 2.
During a discussion at a meeting of the Otago Rugby Union on the replacement rule a member stated that in a junior match on Saturday a player complained at half-time that he did not feel well. He had, however, played on, and on returning home after the match had had to be put to bed. A doctor was called in. and it was then found that the player was suffering from concussion. He fcad to be taken to hospital. DUNEDIN LEAGUE MATCH. (Special to the “ Star.”) DUNEDIN, August 2. Linwood offering to pay all expenses for the visit to Dunedin, the Rugby League decided to play the Linwood game against the City Club here on Saturday for the Gore Cup.
