Summit Road Trust.
To the Editor. Dear Sir,—lt must be pleasing to Mr 11. G. Ell to have noted the added numbers going up to the beauty- spots of late, and the remarks of city people, old and young, on what has been done on the Hills asset to our otherwise flat city. The seat just placed in Cathedral Square by Mr E!1 only- tends to show what can be done, but may the people still make a tour of the various .parts to have an idea of the lovely walks, seats in sunny parts, glorious views, to say nothing of the stonework done inside and out of the several buildings, and stone walls the like of which you cannot better in New Zealand, built of good stone, well graded and sure to stand. These seats, stonework, woodwork, walls, walks, etc., were done under No. 5 scheme ba qualified men unable in these times to geT regular work and under the direction of one who spares no time, energy or grit; who is out not for self but the public benefit. May he continue the good work in these hard times. Who knows, some day a bequest may be forthcoming to help it along the quicker.—l am. etc., GEORGETTE.
