DEATH OF DR F. R. RILEY.

(Special to the ••Star.”) DUNEDIN, August 1. One of Dunedin’s best-known medical practitioners, Dr F. Ratcliffe Riley, died to-day, aged sixty-seven. Dr Riley qualified in London and took the degree of F.R.C.S. at Edinburgh. He came to New Zealand many vears ago and practised at Winton. Later he came to Dunedin and in 1905 was appointed honorary gynaecologist, a position he held till February of this year, when he was appointed honorary consulting gynaecologist. He was Professor of Midwifery and Gynaecology at the Medical School till this year, when he retired. Dr Riley had not been well for some time and about a fortnight ago he went under an operation. He came through the operation well, but took a bad turn on Saturday night and did not rally.
