APPEAL DISMISSED.
Woman Spiritualist Again Appears in Court. LONDON', June 26. “ The idea of trying before a jury whether there is a Deity and a Hell in another world is a prospect from which every sensible person recoils,” said Lord Justice Scrutton. He dismissed the appeal of Mrs Meurig Morris against Mr Justice M’Cardie’s judgment in favour of the “ Daily Mail “ I am glad to be able to do something to prevent it,” Lord Justice Scrutton continued. “ The existence of a Deity and a Hell is a matter for the faith of each individual.” Referring to the spirit utterances of Mrs Morris, Lord Justice Scrutton declared that it had not been suggested by the “ Daily Mail ” that there was fraud on the part of the living person through whom the utterances were made. The case arose out of Mrs. Morris’s claim that articles published by the “ Daily Mail ” had been unfair and imputed fraud to her. Mr Justice M’Cardie gave judgment in favour of the “ Daily Mail ”. Mrs Morris appealed for a new trial.
