Young French Airman Takes 23 Minutes to Fall. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. • (Received July 1, 11.30 a.m.) - PARIS, June 30. Twenty-three minutes after jumping from an aeroplane 7780 metres up, a 3*oung parachutist, Rene Marchenaud, landed safely in a field. This is claimed to be a record jump. Sealed instruments recorded the altitude. Marchenaud wore a special breathing mask. The previous record was held by Captain Willy Coppens, V.C., who jumped four miles at Villa Coublay.
