Napier has had' no tram service since the Ilawke’s Bay earthquake on February 3 of last year, the Commissioner, Mr J. S. Barton, announcing that, in view of the past loss on the service, and the troubles ahead of the town in rehabilitation, the service would be suspended. Taxis and buses have provided transport since then, but a move has been made, as a result of a decision of a meeting of Port Ahuriri residents, to ask the Commissioner to reinstate the tram service. __
