PLUNKET BALL.

Large Gathering at Oxford. EFFORT TO AID FUNDS. Despite the recent fall of snow, the new Town Hall was crowded last night when the Oxford branch of the Plunket Society held their annual ball. The beauty of the hail was enhanced by bowls of chrysanthemums and autumn leaves which decorated the stage, where a number played bridge or watched the dancers. Knowles’s Orchestra played selections of modern and old-time dance music. During the evening vocal items were contributed by Mrs Claire Johnson, Miss Thorne and Mrs R. Inwood. Extras were played by Miss Jean Baxter, Miss M’Connel, Mrs Southgate and Mr Voice. Supper was served in the A. and P. Hall on small tables decorated with varicoloured roses.
