WEDDING.

Ellis—Johnston. The wedding was celebrated recently at the residence of the bride’s parents, of Winifred Jane, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. T. Johnston, Pendarves, and Andrew Walter, son of the late Mr and Mrs G. W. Ellis, of Timaru. The ceremony was performed by the Rev A. S. Morrison, of Rakaia. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an ankle length frock of ivory satin with close-fitting bodice, and coatee to match. Her veil, of embroidered tulle was worn w’ell back on the head and was held in place with orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums. There were two bridesmaids. Miss Ethel Johnston, sister of the bride, wore an anklelength frock of pink satin with coatee to match, and Miss Gladys Johnston, sister of the bride, wore an ankle-length frock. of green satin with coatee to match. Both wore felt hats to tone with their frocks, and carried bouquets of bronze chrysanthemums. Mr A. E. Skinner was best man and Mr S. Haskett was groomsman. A reception was held afterwards, at the residence of the bride’s parents. Mrs Johnston received her guests wearing a frock of green celanese and a green hat to match. Mrs Thompson, sister of the bridegroom, wore a blue flecked tweed frock and a black velourcoat with fur collar and hat to match. When Mr and Mrs Ellis left later for Christchurch the bride was wearing a beige wool repp frock trimmed with celanese, felt hat to tone, and flecked tweed coat with fur collar. In the evening Mr and Mrs Johnston entertained the guests at a dance.
