She plays the part of an irascible, tempestuous old woman, rich as a Croesus, who fights to win the love of her son whom she had ordered from her home. Woven into tlie story is a charming love theme. The star s performance dominates the picture. .May Robson, as Harriet Breer. reputedly the richest woman in the United States, has an exceedingly difficult part. Her aim in life is to smash Remington, a rival financier, and to ensure the happiness of her daughter, I* aitli, by seeing that she does not marry a fortune hunter. Through her business connections, Harriet has become a soured and grouchy old person, harsh and unbending to her children, acquaintances and employees alike, yet at times relaxing to become a human being instead of an automaton bent on the destruction of her rival.
