AT THEIR OWN RISK.
Snores Bodies Not Liable for injuries to Spectators. LONDOX, June 2G. According to a judgment delivered by Lord Justices Scrutton, Greer and Slesser, in the Court of Appeal, .spectators watch races, cricket and other sports at their own risk. The Court allowed the appeal of the Brooklands Auto Club against a jury’s verdict in Mr Justice M’Cardie’s Court in favour of Lieutenant Hall, who was injured when cars collided at Brooklards on May 9, 1930. Lord Justice Scrutton declared that the duty of the promoters of a sports meeting did not extend beyond exercising reasonable care for the safety of spectators. Lord Justice Greer declared that watchers of cricket did not expect to be encased in a cage for fear of the ball hitting their heads.
