After yielding silver to the value of £11,000,000 in its twenty-six years of working, the famous Nipissing mine at Cobalt (Ontario) has ceased operations, all the ore having been exhausted. In this issue the Railway Department advertises particulars of the train arrangements and the issue of special excursion tickets in connection with the forthcoming trotting meeting at Ashburton on Saturday, June 11. A special train for the conveyance of horses has been scheduled at express train speed and should prove popular with owners and trainers as horses will be unloaded and reloaded close to the racecourse.
