A UNION INQUIRY.

A number of replies from various firms in Christchurch have been received by the Canterbury Industrial Union of Workers in regard to its inquiry as to how many firms have applied the 10 per cent cut or are employing nonunion labour.

A sub-committee was set up by the union to go into the question, but its deliberations were delayed by the tramway strike. It is now, however, getting down to business with a view to ascertaining the attitude of various firms on the two issues.
