Compris has been enjoying a spell since he returned from his Sydney trip. He is in excellent health and it is intended to put him in work again next week, in preparation for spring racing. C. Davey will also make a start, at the same time, with the two-year-old Goldstead, by Lord Quex from Baijou and daughter of the imported Bayardo mare, Bayonne. He had only one race this season. A yearling by Pourbal from the imported mare, Imprudence, has been broken in and will join the other pair in regular work.
