U.F.S. Dispensary. At the meeting of the board an optimistic feeling existed with regard to the retail department. During the quarter I ending March 31 the cash returns were | very little below the corresponding period in 1930, and considering the | stringent conditions of trade since then lit was considered that the position was | very satisfactory. A large increase in prescriptions, including the all-night dispensary quota, made up the substantial figures of over 15,000 prescriptions for the quarter. The Hospital Board scheme is still proving a great boon to friendly society members, the number of certificates issued being 404, the number of •lays 10,898, and beds 119.69. The arrangements made for members taking ill or meeting with accidents while (ravelling, and removed to a public hospital, have proved beneficial. A vacancy on the board occurred through a member ceasing to represent his lodge, .and an appointment will be made by the board. The reading of Rule 9, which deals Avitli the appointment, leaves room for doubt as to its intention, and in order to make the rule more definite, an alteration has been suggested for consideration by the committee. It was decided to allow the levies to remain as at present. Druids’ Church. Parade. Final arrangements have been made for the annual church parade to be . held on Sunday afternoon next, May 22. I The procession will leave the Orange Hall at 2.30, and proceed to Durham Street Methodist Church, via Worcester, Colombo and Armagh Streets. By Kind permission of the officer commanding, the Canterbury Regimental Band will head the procession, and assist in the service, and at the close of the service will accompany country visitors to the Orange Hall, Avhere afternoon tea will be provided.
