SEWER CONNECTIONS.
An Opportunity Missed in Beckenham. Complaints that a considerable number of Beckenham residents had not taken advantage of the opportunity to have their premises connected with the sewer were made at the meeting of the Drainage Board last evening. The board referred the subject to its Works Committee for a report. Mr 11. G. Livingstone said that the board could take no action in the case of properties which had been abandoned to mortgagees who did not take title, but.who rented them to tenants. Some alteration in the legislation was necessary. The question raised by Mr Livingstone was referred to the board’s solicitors for advice.
