New Zealand Club Stages March Meeting. Although conditions were overcast and cold on Saturday at the New Brighton Trotting Ground, where the New Zealand AVhippet Racing Club staged its March meeting, the track was dry. and no rain fell during the The event to receive the biggest nomination was the Peterborough Handicap, restricted to dogs 241 b and under. It resulted in a win for Misses Flaherty and O’Brien’s Grey Eagie. Mr J. Don was successful in the Oxford second class, gaining first place with Rin Tin Tin, whilst Mrs J. Don’s Amounis was second. Won by a nose, with Captain Drake a neck behind Amounis. Tirne—ll 4-ssec. WAIMAKARIRI PUPPY HANDICAP, of 100yds—Final: Fgirwyn 1, Rossaway 2, Sunny Sky 3. AVrm by a neck, with a length separating the next two dogs. Time—B l-ssec. SELAVYX OPEN HURDLE HANDICAP (a sweepstake over six flights), of 200yds (with a *3t)yds limit)—Final: AVhy Not 1, Ambition 2, Bluebird 3. AVon by one length and a half, with the next two dogs separated by a couple of lengths. Time—l 3 2-sseo. PETERBOROUGH MIDDLE-WEIGHT FLAT HANDICAP, of 200yds—Final: Grey Eagle 3, Flying Scot 2, Quality 3. A close finish, Grey Eagle winning by a head, with half a length separating Flying Scot from Quality. Time —11 2-5 sec. lIERVEY FIRST-CLASS HANDICAP, of 200yds—J. R. D. Johns’s Bluebird (14yds) 1, A. Liggins’s General Nobile (15yds) 2, H. A. Rhind and J. R. D. Johns’s Captain Pepper (4yds) 3. Won by two lengths, with half a length between second and third. Time—l2 3-10
