ALL NATIONS FAIR.

Tennis Tournament to Assist Funds.

Another delightful party, one of many being held this month to aid the All Nations Fair, was held on Friday afternoon by Mrs Edwin Hamilton at her home, Papanui Road. The party took the form of a tennis tournament, played on Mrs Hamilton’s courts and also those on the adjoining property, lent by Mrs Frank Hobbs. The winners were Mrs H. N. Talbot 1, and Mrs Bernard Hale 2. Afternoon tea was served in the spacious drawing-room, which was beautifully decorated with hydrangeas and autumn flowers.

The players were:—Mesdames Jack Newton, Mervyn Stevenson, Ronald Fisher, Nicholls, F. H. E. Chester C. C. Davis, W. H. Clark, V. E. Hamilton, Bruce Stringer, S. W. Jameson, K. Gresson, Bernard Hale, G. Pascoe, Dan Reese, H. N. Talbot and Douglas Anderson. Others who helped by contributions were:—Mesdames Frank Hobbs, W. Goss. H. Perry, W. H. E. Flint, A. H. Tocker, C. L. Hart. T. A. Mac Gibbon, R. W. Morrow, A. B. Pearson, P. A. Norrie. Tonks, Geoffrey Hamilton, Wolcbtt Wood and Bigg-Wither, Misses Gillanders. Betty Hobbs and Vivienne Turner. Aid For Brighton Stall. A jolly informal dance was held on Thursday evening at the Peace Memorial Hall, North Brighton. The hostesses were Mrs Betty Sneesby and Miss Irene Leaver. The guests brought contributions for the sweet stall of the All Nations' Fair. Nolan’s Orchestra gave their services and Mr Billy Stamler played many extras. Mr Fred BVomley was M.C.
