A Queer Clock
A curious mechanical contrivance, b*. lieved to be the oldest church clock in existence, lies forgotten in the belbrof Porlock (Somersetshire) church. F-%. centuries it told the time to the inhabitants of the district by striking th% hours. Without face and hands it probably the only clock of its kind. Its works are in a sort of cage made ot wood. Boulders from the seashore provide the weights which make them go. The clock was replaced in the church tower about forty years ago, and it has lain neglected in the belfry ever since,
