Christchurch Fixture at Kairaki. NO VISITING CREWS. The Wellington, Petone, Star and Port Clialmers crews, who travelled for the Christchurch regatta a fortnight ago, and had to return home through the fixture being postponed, did not put in an appearance when the regatta was held at Kairaki this afternoon. Seven clubs were represented. The weather, which had been threatening in the morning, improved, but the rowers had both the wind and the incoming tide against them. A fair crowd of spectators watched the racing. The results were:— YOUTH’S SINGLE SCULLS-—Union (G. Toner) 3, Akaroa (T. E. Armstrong) 2, Avon (G. H. Bowden) 3. Armstrong, who rowed well, lost much ground through not travelling straight. Toner won easily by four lengths, with four lengths between second and third. LIGHT-WEIGHT MAIDEN FOURS— Union (E. Toner, J. Seelnn, S. Hill, F. Bryne) 3. Canterbury 2, Avon 3. Lyttelton also started. Union took the lead from about half-way, and won by a length and a half, with Avon a canvas behind Canterbury.

Akaroa and Lyttelton appeared to have the advantage until Canterbury No. 2 quickened their stroke and won by a length and a half. There was a keen battle for second place, and only a foot or two separated the boats.

Youths’ Double Sculls—Union (G. Toner, C. Cooper) 1, Canterbury 2, Avon

3. Union and Canterbury went into the lead early, and Union gradually went ahead to win easily by four lengths, with Avon three-quarters of a length behind.
