FOUND WITH JEMMY.
Man’s Suspicious Movements Lead to Arrest. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 21. Suspicious movements on the part of Ronald Hicks late on Saturday night led to detectives questioning him, and as a sequel Hicks was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by Mr Woodward, S.M., to-day. Accused was charged with being a rogue and a vagabond in that he was found unlawfully in possession of a housebreaking instrument. I Detectives found him with a jemmy and a torch and he admitted his intention to break and enter some place. lie had been before the Court this year for unlawful intimidation in connection with a Communist meeting in Christchurch, and had stowed away in the Wahine to Wellington.
