SUICIDE PACT?
Man and Wife Found Dead in Dunedin. CORONER’S REMARKS. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 19. At the Inquest on Robert Joseph Norman and his wife, Lydia May, found gassed in South Dunedin on Tuesday, the Coroner said that there were two alternatives as to the cause of death—that death was the result of a suicide pact or that the deed was done by one while the other was asleep. The evidence showed that the wife’s mental condition had been unstable for some time. However, the actual cause of death could be but a matter of speculation, rather than legitimate inference. He returned an open verdict.
