BROADSIDING TO-NIGHT.
An exceptionally fine programme of broadsiding will be presented at the Monica Park Speedway to-night and the large crowd expected is promised plenty of speed, thrills, and an excellent display of the sport at its best. A distinguished list of riders will compete, headed by the two clever English test match broadsiders, Wally Hull and Sid Jackson, whose times and exhibitions have thrilled the crowd. Considerable interest is being shown in the reappearance of Charlie Blacklock, whose riding last year made him popular with the crowds. He Is in great form after competing in first-class company on the English tracks, and much is expected of him. Then Reg Ranby, the Wellington grass and dirt track rider of note, will take girt, and Jack Oakley, of Ashburton, ercy Lunn, Norman Gray and “Shorty” Wicks will head the band of competent Canterbury riders. A feature will be the meeting of Gray and Lunn in the first series of races for the coveted Chevrolet Gold Helmet. Special music will round off a fine open-air entertainment.
