MODEL AERO SPORTS.
Hagley Park on Boxing Day. Below is the programme of events as arranged. In the open event for the public, models may be either handlaunchect or R.O.G. 10.30—Lay-out of ’planes. 11 a.m.—Duration flight, beginners with self-constructed ’planes. Points equal J to number of seconds flown; and up to 10 points for neatness of construction. Prizes: Ist, 5s order; 2nd, 2s 6d order. 11.15 a.m.—Duration flight for ’planes that have done 20sec. Standard type A. Points equal to number of seconds flown; and up to 20 points for neatness. Prizes: Ist, 5s order; 2nd, 2s 6d order. 2.5 p.m.—Duration flight for ’planes that have done 35sec. Standard type B. Points equal to number of seconds flown; and up to 30 points for neatness. Prizes: Ist, 5s order; 2nd, 2s 6d order.
3.15 p.m.—Open event for non-members, duration, any type of 'plane. Prizes: Ist, model ’plane, presented by Mr Dacombe; 2nd, 5s order. 4.15 p.m.—Championship. For Members. Standard type of ’plane C. Points awarded for:—Duration, number of seconds flown; straightness of flight, up to 50 points; distance up to 40 points; neatness, up to 25 points. Prizes: Ist, ’plane and cup; 2nd, 5s order. 5.15 p.m.—Duration only, any type of ’plane. Prizes: Ist, 5s order; 2nd, 2s 6d order. All prizes will be orders on firms for construction materials to the stated value. Further instructions will appear in next Saturday’s page. N.B.—Please observe that these sports are limited to members of the club, with the exception of one event. New members will be accepted at any time. Boys are requested to bring along all their spare models and plenty of spares and also mending gear. If necessary new classes will be added. —A.H. THE REASON. Little Willie came dome from school looking very tearful. "What’s the matter, laddie?” inquired his Uncle John. “ I’ve lost the twopence teacher gave for the best boy in the class!” wailed Willie, between his sobs. “Well, never mind, old chap!” said Uncle John. “ Here’s another twopence. But how did you manage to lose it?” Willie: “Because I wasn’t the best boy, Uncle.”
