Gatherings in the Suburbs and Country. EIGHTY-FOURTH BIRTHDAY An enjoyable party was held at the residence of Mrs George Pateman, North Road, Belfast, in celebration of her eighty-fourth birthday. The guests were entertained to afternoon tea and a musical programme in the evening. A competition was won by Mrs E. Smith, Christchurch. Those present were:—Mesdames G. Pateman, E. Smith (Christchurch), Langston (Christchurch), Chaplin, Hamilton, Murfitt and J. Pateman, Misses Chaplin (Belfast), C. Smart, E. Smart and Murfitt', Messrs A. Pateman and G. Miller (Christchurch). Gift Evening at Little River. Miss Grace Fahey, whose marriage takes place this month, was again the guest of honour at a gift evening held recently at Little River, the hostesses being Mesdames P. Fallon and T. Keenan. The bride-elect received many gifts. Dancing, cards and games made the evening pass pleasantly. The prizes for the euchre tournament were won as follows:—Ladies, Mrs Murray; consolation, Mrs Pocock; men, Mr T. Wood; consolation, Mr H. Lewthwaite. A lucky spot waltz was won by Mr J. Horsfall entertained a number of friends to celebrate the coming of age of their only daughter, Nancy. Dancing, games and competitions were enjoyed.
