W.C.T.U. MEETINGS.
Spreydon Branch. The annual meeting of the Spreydon W.C.T.U. was held recently in the Baptist schoolroom, Lincoln Road. The follow-ing officers were elected: President, Mrs Pirett; vice-presidents, Mesdames Voss, Petrie, E. E. Smith, Ray and J. Burley; secretary, Mrs Mackenzie ; treasurer, Mrs Ancall; white ribbon superintendent, Mrs H. Burley; scientific temperance superintendent, Mrs Petrie; cradle roll superintendent, Mrs E. Fehsenfeld. The reports were adopted. The cradle roll superintendent was congratulated on the increase of seventeen in the membership, making a total of fifty-seven. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames M’Cracken and Fehsenfeld. Styic Branch. At the annual meeting of the Styx branch of the W.C.T.U., Mrs Donald presided over a good attendance of members. A temperance fact was read. Reports from the various departments showed good work. The cradle roll showed fourteen new members, making a total of 112. The white ribbon had eleven subscribers. The union had gained eleven new members during the year. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs Donald; vice-presidents, Mesdames Hill, Wood and Mulcock; secretary, Mrs Marweck; treasurer, Miss Harris; cradle roll superintendent, Mrs Harding; L.S.L., Mesdames Donald and Craighead; Band of Hope superintendent, Mrs Scott. Votes of thanks were passed to the officers and members, and all who had helped to make the year’s work a success.
