MELBOURNE, October 28. Dark Man, who has broken down, has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup. A special watchman has arrived from Sydney for VeiJmond and Concentrate. Mr D. K. S. Mackinnon, chairman of the Victoria Racing Club, says that Phar Lap will be unhurt if he starts in the Melbourne Cup. Koda Pen, a hot favourite, won the Maiden Plate at Kyneton.
