Two Country Marriages of Interest. PRESTNEY—HILL. A wedding was solemnised at St Peter’s Church, Riccarton, on Saturday evening, the Rev J. F. Feron, of Rangiora, officiating. The bride, who was escorted by her cousin, Mr R. Howden, was the second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Hill, Black’s Point. The bridegroom was Norman, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Prestney, Rangiora. The bride's frock was of beige georgette over marocain. The frock was daintily tucked at the hips, and bands of satin formed the yoke and hem. She wore a pretty hat of web straw to tone and carried a bouquet of pale pink and mauve sweetpeas and maidenhair fern. Miss Ena Prestney, sister of the bridegroom, attended the bridesmaid, wearing a dainty floral sleeveless frock with a coatee to match, in shades of beige, lemon and blue. Her large hat to tone was of straw and georgette, and her bouquet was of maidenhair fern and flowers to match the deeper shades of the frock. Mr E. Drewery was best man. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs Prestney, wore a georgette frock, patterned in navy and saxe, under a smart navy coat* with a becoming hat of navy straw. LUXTON—GIBBS. St Paul s Church, Wairoa, was recently the scene of the wedding of Gladys Elizabeth, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. L. Gibbs, of Wairoa, and Stanley George, youngest son df Mrs Luxton and the late Mr C. Luxton, of Makara. The Rev W. P. Mataira, of Nuhuka, performed the ceremony, and Mrs A. H. Deighton presided at the organ.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of ivory georgette mounted on pale pink satin, the bodice, coatee and sleeves being of embossed georgette and trimmed with ermine. Her beautifully embroidered pale pink veil was arranged with a semi-circle of orange blossom at the back of the head and held at either side by a small posy. She carried a bouquet of beautiful pink and white flowers. Miss Dorothy Gibbs attended her sister as chief bridesmaid, wearing an anklelength frock of pale green georgette, the short sleeves, coatee and skirt being finished with small frills. She wore a pretty summer felt hat to tone and carried a bouquet of spring flowers and ferns. Miss Ida Gibbs, of Harewood, cousin of the bride, was also in attendance, wearing a short frilled frock of lemon crepe florimel, with a summer felt, hat to match. She carried a posy of primroses. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Stanley Packnaz, of Wellington, as best man. A reception was afterwards held at Osier’s tea-rooms, where the bride’s mother received the guests, wearing a navy blue costume, a blue hat and a fox fur. Her bouquet was of roses and blue ceanothus.

Mr and Mrs Luxton left later by car for Napier, en route to Rotorua and Auckland. The bride travelled in a nigger brown tailored costume with a hat to tone. Their future home will be in Makara, Wellington.
