PIANOFORTE RECITAL.
To-night, at the Civic Theatre, music lovers will have the opportunity of hearing Miss Marjorie Alexander, the talented Christchurch musician who is leaving for England shortly to take advantage of the scholarship she gained this year. So pleased was Mischa Levitski with Miss Alexander’s capabilities that he said "she should become the world's leading lady pianiste.” Miss Alexander has been very generous in her work for local charities, and at the Liedertafel concert on Tuesday night she received an ovation. Her programme is one of the very best and includes some of the wellknown classics played by the leading pianists of the day. She will be supported by Miss Noel Cape-Williamson (’cellist), and Mrs Simpson will be the accompaniste. The box plan is at The Bristol.
