LIQUOR STOLEN.
Offence at Addington has Court Sequel. The theft of some liquor from a bar at the Metropolitan Trotting Club’s grounds on or about August 16, had a seciuel in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. Clarence William Page, a labourer, aged 18, Patrick Joseph Doyle, a labourer, aged 21, and Ernest Blades, a labourer, aged 42, pleaded guilty to the theft of the liquor, which was the property of P. Burke and Co., and valued at £2. Joseph Scarlett, a carpenter, aged 46, pleaded not guilty to the theft of a bunch of keys, the property of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club. All four accused are living at the Salvation Army Home. Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., admitted Page and Doyle to probation for twelve months and fined both the other accused £2, in default fourteen days’ imprisonment. Each of the accused concerned in the theft of liquor was ordered to refund 13s 4d.
