BRUTAL ASSAULT IN AUCKLAND SUBURB. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. June 20. A man walking home with his wages in his pocket was brutally assaulted and robbed in New Lynn about seven o’clock last night. The man, Harry Davis, aged 60, who is employed by the Public Works Department in the country, was within 100 yards of his home when he was attacked by two men from behind. One dragged him on the footpath on 3iis face, while the other stole £l6.
