WAGE REDUCTION BY NELSON CITY COUNCIL.
LOWER PAID EMPLOYEES _ EXEMPTED FROM CUT, Per Press Association. NELSON. Juna 19. The Nelson City Council made a cut of 5 per cent in all salaries and wages with the following exceptions:—The cut shall not affect full-time employees in receipt of less than £lO4 per annum; the cut shall not affect the wages of those, who, although not working under the award, would, by a 5 per cent reduction, be reduced tc wages below the amount received by those affected by the 10 per cent cut when working elsewhere under an award. The whole question will ba revised at the end of the financial year. The resolution will become operative July 1.
