The alleged invitation from Signor Mussolini to Dr Marie Stopes, which was featured in the evening papers, appears to be a hoax. Dr. Stopes, when interviewed, affirm ed definitely that she had received the invitation, but the Rome correspondent of the “ Daily Telegraph,” however, cabled as follows: “ The invitation is a hoax. If she confirms it, she herself has been
hoaxed.” The correspondent adds that any such action would be illegal in Italy.
