In food values, a sedentary worker needs more food than a manual worker. The reason is not that a brainworker needs more stimulant, but the average sedentary worker is careful to take sufficient exercise to keep himself fit. His state of health is better than that of the manual worker, who may overtire himself bodily and who does not enjoy the hours of rest he Should. The physical and mental activities are also better balanced in a sedentary worker.
