IMPORTANT VISIT OF MR A. MELLON.
REVISION OF WAR DEBTS SUGGESTED. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received June 19, 12.50 p.m.) RUGBY. June 18. Mr Andrew Mellon, Uhited States Secretary of the Treasury, who is in London on an informal visit, was visited at his hotel to-day by Mr Montagu Norman, Governor of the Bank of England, who remained for luncheon. Mr Mellon, who had a talk at the House of Commons yesterday with Mr MacDonald and Mr Henderson, had a further interview with these Ministers this afternoon. The diplomatic correspondent of the “Daily Express” says that Mr Mellon has been engaged since his arrival in a series of conferences to which great importance is attached in political and financial circles. He has had two long interviews with Mr MacDonald. The correspondent proceeds to say that Mr Mellon was invited to London to discuss the revision of war debts.
