SOCIAL GATHERINGS.

KITCHEN EVENING. Alisses D. Bruere and A. Prestney, Rangiora, were joint hostesses at a kitchen evening in honour of Aliss Thelma Aleyer, who is to be married shortly. The evening was spent in games and dancing. The winners of the lucky spot waltz were Aliss D. Bruere and Air J. Blunden. The opening of the parcels caused much amusement. Alartyn, Zita Aleyer (Christchurch) and D. Hills, Alessrs Aleyer (3), Ray Smith, Ileney, A. Ambrose, Robertson, Alehrtens, Kirker, Blunden, Henry, Hasell, Rapley, Duncan, Prestney and Les Smith. Children’s Birthday Party. A birthday party was recently given by Airs Leslie Bryant, of Wychburn Street, in honour of her son and daughter, Shirley and Graham. Games and items were enjoyed by the little ones. ThoSe present were:—Velma Alanson, Dorothy Bryce, Shirley Bryant, Delcie Bryant, Alamie Pacie, Dorothy Facie, Alargaret Aikins, Gladys Howie, Delio Ilowie, Ruth Joseph, Joyce Warman, Stanley Howie, Eric Black, Jimmy Bryce, Andrew Bryce, Lewis Joseph, Keith Craig, Noel Joseph, George Dennis, Bruce Dennis, Alervyn Robinson, Ernie Aikins, Laurie Bryant, Norman Bryant and Richard Warman.
